Welcome
Is there parking at okay bar?
Not really. There is no onsite parking at okay bar and street parking is very limited. We highly recommend using ride share to get to and from the welcome party.
Can kids come to a bar?!
Yes, kids are welcome at okay bar. This is New Orleans! Babies are allowed in bars as long as they stay out of the booze and refrain from using any video poker machines.
Will there be food? I’ll be hungry!
Yes! The menu is still being finalized, but there will be food, including vegan and veggie options.

Wedding
Is there a dress code or theme for wedding guests?
Dress code is cocktail attire. The ceremony and reception are outside in a nestled, shaded courtyard, with exposed brick and big trees. The terrain is grass and gravel. New Orleans weather in November is typically highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the 50s. As for theme, we invite you to dress as the save-the-date collage inspires you! Bring your dancing shoes! Passion, romance, pinks, yellows, greens.
Is there parking at the wedding venue?
No. There is no onsite parking at the venue. We strongly recommend that you walk, take public transit, or ride share to the venue. If you must drive a vehicle, there is limited street parking nearby with (mostly) paid street parking on Elysian Fields and free parking on side streets nearby.
Wait, is the wedding at the Promise Garden, Industrial Garden, or Promise of Justice Initiative?
Great question! It’s all the same place, 1024 Elysian Fields Avenue. The Promise Garden (formerly known as the Industrial Garden) is an event space managed by The Promise of Justice Initiative, a local non-profit. If you enter any of these terms in Google Maps, you will be led to the right place at 1024 Elysian Fields.
I have a food allergy/dietary restriction. Will there be food that I can eat?
Yes! Please make sure you add those details when you RSVP. If you have questions, reach out to us.
I have a music request for the dance floor! Where do I submit it?
Submit your request on the wedding forum here.

Shucksgiving
What is Shucksgiving?
Learn its origins and more by reading The History of Shucksgiving.
Am I supposed to bring anything?
It depends! It is a potluck, but we’ll be providing lots of oysters and some drinks (maybe even some wedding leftovers). For locals / Shucksgiving regulars, we highly recommend that you bring a drink, a chair, and a dish to share. For out of town guests, bring a drink if you like, but otherwise just bring yourself and a Shucksgiving spirit.
Can kids come?
Absolutely! Shucksgiving is a +1s, +2s, +3s type of event. All are welcome. Bring your swamp boat tour guide you just met, bring your Cajun cousin, bring your neighbor! The more the merrier. Shucksgiving will be at Grow Dat Youth Farm inside City Park, so there will be places for kids and adults to roam and explore.
Is there parking?
We highly recommend that you carpool, ride share, or bike if you’re able! There are a small handful of parking spots on the property for vendors and guests with limited mobility. Otherwise, there is a free gravel parking lot adjacent to the nearby rugby field. This lot is open to the public so we cannot guarantee availability. Finally, Grow Dat Youth Farm does not allow parking along Zachary Taylor Drive.
Where is it? I thought it was at your house…
This year, Shucksgiving will be at Grow Dat Youth Farm nestled in City Park. There are large oak trees, a few picnic tables, and an outdoor classroom. Grow Dat operates a two-acre sustainable farm and youth leadership program. We’ve been members of their CSA farm share since we’ve lived in New Orleans.
What should I wear?
Casual clothes and comfy shoes. The terrain at Grow Dat is grass and gravel. Grow Dat also asks that guests do not use bug spray products containing DEET.
